Social Services

Social safeguard services that identify social risks, protect affected communities and promote inclusive, sustainable project development.

Ardent Engineering & Consultant provides comprehensive social safeguard and social management services to identify, assess and manage social risks associated with infrastructure and development projects. Our services support inclusive development, protect affected communities and help meet national regulations and international safeguard standards.

Detailed Service Scope

Social Impact Assessment (SIA)

Social Impact Assessment identifies and evaluates potential project impacts on affected communities and stakeholders. It covers socioeconomic conditions, vulnerable groups, community resources, gender considerations and project-related risks, supported by meaningful stakeholder engagement and appropriate mitigation and enhancement measures for socially responsible and inclusive development.

Social Safeguard Framework (SSF)

A Social Safeguard Framework establishes systematic procedures for identifying, assessing and managing social risks throughout the project lifecycle. It provides principles and guidance for land acquisition, involuntary resettlement, stakeholder engagement, livelihood impacts and protection of vulnerable groups, with clear institutional responsibilities and implementation mechanisms.

Social Management Plan (SMP)

A Social Management Plan provides practical measures for managing and monitoring identified social risks and impacts during implementation. It addresses community health and safety, labour and working conditions, gender inclusion, vulnerable groups, stakeholder engagement and grievance redress, with responsibilities, monitoring indicators, reporting procedures and implementation arrangements.

Land Acquisition Plan (LAP)

A Land Acquisition Plan supports transparent, fair and legally compliant acquisition of land required for project implementation. It identifies affected land and assets, ownership and use patterns, compensation requirements and institutional responsibilities in line with applicable national laws and relevant international safeguards, helping minimise displacement risks and protect affected landowners and users.

Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)

A Resettlement Action Plan addresses projects involving land acquisition, physical displacement or economic displacement. It covers socioeconomic assessment, impact identification, entitlement and compensation frameworks, relocation, livelihood support, consultation, grievance redress and implementation arrangements, prioritising affected and vulnerable households through participatory and transparent planning.

Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP)

A Livelihood Restoration Plan identifies affected livelihood sources and sets measures to restore or improve income and economic well-being after project-related impacts. Measures may include skills development, employment opportunities, business support, agricultural assistance and income-generating activities, with community consultation and targeted support for vulnerable households.
